When it comes to spiritualism, there are many different categories that it is placed in as well as various understandings as to what it actually is. Some people may say that spiritualism is a form of religion, while others may feel that being spiritual is not a religious act at all. I guess when it comes to actually define what being spiritual is, the definition is purely relative to a particular person’s belief.
I personally am not a particularly religious person, in the traditional sense of the word, as I do not attend a church regularly. However, I do pray regularly in a manner that can be deemed as religious and I most definitely believe in a higher power. Getting into the topic of religion can be a very sensitive matter and even without meaning to, somehow it is easy to offend people. Therefore, I will not get into names and specific religions especially since no one truly knows who what is and so on and so forth. At the same time, regardless of what or who you may call your higher power, it is very difficult to not recognize that there is some form of power that exists which is greater than ourselves.
I remember a time when I was at a truly low point in my life and I would question my purpose and even my entire existence. Not only did I question my existence, but at that time, I even questioned the existence of the God I was raised to believe in. And then, like an epiphany, something inside of me told me to just look up. I looked up at the sky and saw the most beautiful colors of pinks, yellows, orange, blue and white. I saw the birds playing happily in the sky as they sang songs of delight and pure bliss. Then I looked around at the trees, the beautiful flowers sprouting up from the grass and the squirrels scurrying up the branches.
And then, I suddenly felt the gentlest breeze I had ever felt sort of softly caressing my face. It is really difficult to explain as this didn’t feel like an ordinary breeze passing bye. It was deliberate yet so gentle at the same time. I felt something stir in me and that’s when it hit me. All of the beauty I was taking in around me did not just happen by chance. Everything on this planet was perfectly designed and had been created by something so powerful, my human mind could not possibly understand it. You can always search for any psychic medium hotline.
I now realize that at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter whether you consider yourself to be a certain religion or just a spiritual person in general, we all have to recognize the power that is greater than ourselves. The fact that our hearts can beat non-stop from the moment they are formed is a miracle in and of itself. Seeing is not always believing. We can’t see the air we breathe; however, we need it just the same.
