Ever since STX Entertainment has opened its doors in 2014, the studio has moved aggressively into becoming one of the major media production houses in Hollywood. Owned and operated by Robert Simonds, the company has already undertaken a number of important projects such as Secret in Their Eyes and Bad Moms that have made it possible for them to become one of the most important emerging studios that have come up within the last years. Numerous actors, directors and producers who have worked with the studio have already praised STX Entertainment due to their sheer professionalism, commitment to quality and hard work as well as the desire to explore a wide range of creative channels while making sure that the movies that they produce make good money for them.

Quite recently, Robert Simonds in Variety spoke about his plans for the future and his approach of filmmaking that is in some ways rather different to others in the film industry these days. From the very beginning, Robert Simonds has believed in making movies that are entertaining, popular and creatively rich. It is exactly the path that he is willing to take with his studio and production house STX Entertainment. In the coming years, Robert Simonds aims to make movies that are geared more towards the mature audience and can strike a chord with them by providing them with movies that are thematically and stylistically different.

One of the major trends in the movie industry that he hopes to change with STX Entertainment is the extensive proliferation of superhero movies that have literally taken over the whole of Hollywood. For the last few years, the Marvel Universe has dominated the movie market with its releases of sequels and prequels as well as a range of merchandise items and theme park concepts. While it is true that the Marvel movies have been able to generate great profits for the movie business, the truth remains that these movies have created a major void when it comes to sheer creativity. Most of the superhero movies are created for a younger audience and this has eventually created a dearth of movies that have content which would appeal to more mature audiences.

It is exactly that Robert Simonds aims to change with his media house STX Entertainment. The studio has already made several movies with stars like Julia Roberts, Jackie Chan and Matthew McConaughey just to name a few. Robert Simonds will focus on making movies that have mature storylines which is certainly going to appeal to the wider market base. These movies will feature gripping storylines and great performances by the actors. Most of the movies that Robert Simonds and his studio STX Entertainment are going to make will have budgets ranging between $20 and $80 million. The studio has already released a number of good hits and financially lucrative movies that is going to pave the way for the studio to undertake more important projects in the near future that will certainly a lot of entertainment for the viewers.
